An integrated approach to the nervous system
At brain.body.mvmt, Allyssa integrates a range of neuro-focused and movement-based modalities to support nervous system regulation, pain patterns, post-surgery recovery, and movement clarity. Rather than treating isolated symptoms, each session looks at how your brain and body are communicating - and which pathways may be contributing to discomfort or restriction.
Every session is fully tailored, combining the approaches below according to your needs.
The nervous system doesn’t work in isolated parts - and neither does your body. Allyssa’s approach focuses on identifying dysregulated pathways rather than chasing symptoms. By working with the brain-body connection, sessions support clearer movement, more efficient patterns, and a more regulated system.
How we work at brain.body.mvmt
The 8-Week Nervous System Integration Container is a nervous-system-led process designed to support change across the body’s core systems rather than simply managing symptoms. Over 4x 1:1 sessions we will be working with how the nervous system organises movement, interprets sensory information, and regulates internal state.
This container can positively influence musculoskeletal function, fascial and connective tissue adaptability (including long-held tension or scar-related restriction), pain perception and sensory processing, autonomic regulation (impacting stress tolerance, sleep, digestion, energy, and recovery), and emotional and behavioural responses related to safety, confidence, and avoidance.
The pace is intentional and responsive, allowing changes to integrate in a way the nervous system can sustain, building body literacy, self-trust, and long-term capacity rather than short-term quick fixes.
Modalities we use at brain.body.mvmt

Functional Neuro Health focuses on how the brain and nervous system organise movement, sensation, and responses to stress.
Allyssa assesses which neurological pathways may be overactive, underactive, or compensating, and uses specific techniques to help improve communication between the brain and body.Supports people experiencing:
Movement limitations
Post-injury or post-surgery changes
Pain or tension patterns
Concussion-related symptoms
Long-term stress or dysregulation
-
The Square 1 System works with the brain’s sensory-motor pathways to help reorganise how your body interprets movement and load. It is a precise method for identifying and supporting compensation patterns that may be affecting coordination, strength, or comfort.
Often used for:
Athletes
Persistent movement restrictions
Balance, coordination, or stability changes
Those who feel “stuck” or unable to progress with rehab
-
Scars - whether from surgery, injury, or trauma, can create interruptions in fascial, lymphatic, and neurological pathways. Scar Release Therapy helps improve sensation, mobility, and tissue glide, and may support more efficient movement and nervous system signalling.
Suitable for:
C-section scars
Orthopaedic surgeries
Keyhole surgery
Abdominal surgeries
Old injuries
-
AMN works with the electrical signalling of the nervous system to help reorganise movement, perception, and protective responses. It is gentle, hands-on, and focused on restoring how the brain interprets the body.
Helpful for individuals experiencing:
Persistent pain
“No one can figure this out” movement issues
Sensory changes
Dysregulated stress responses
-
DNS is based on developmental movement patterns and helps restore stability, breath mechanics, and core control.
It is particularly supportive for people returning to movement after injury or surgery, and those seeking better coordination.Used for:
Breath and core retraining
Post-injury movement patterns
Returning to physical activity
Athletes and movers
-
Pilates-based movement is used when appropriate to support:
Alignment
Controlled strength
Breath mechanics
Movement confidence
Better spinal and pelvic organisation
This work is integrated into sessions when movement retraining is beneficial.
-
These techniques help reduce restrictions, support fluid movement, and calm an overactive nervous system. They are particularly helpful for individuals recovering from surgery, inflammation, or periods of high stress.
